I read good reviews for this place, so I took my watches to get new batteries and gold jewelries that I hadn’t worn for many years to see if I could sell them.A battery for a FENDI watch cost £10. It would have cost £50 as the watch had a special waterproof coating, but I didn’t ask for it. When I last changed the battery, it was at a FENDI shop in Hong Kong and I remember it was expensive as they restored it with original water proof coating after replacing a battery.I was happy that this shop offered an option to replace a battery without waterproof coating.The other one was Swatch and it cost £7.50.Then I asked how much I would get for gold and he weighed each one after inspecting carefully. I was shocked to hear how much it would be.After I came home, I googled the price of gold and it’s gone up over the years.He was very helpful.

I’ve bought a number of items of jewellery from Attenborough now and they do good deals, sell nice selection of gold pieces; rings, pendants etc. Helpful people, do gold testing too. They have some nice gold bracelets and necklaces. 9ct and 18ct mostly. Also a few antique pieces. Not many watches. A fair bit of silver. On the whole lots of rings, stones, diamonds, clear, yellow, blue etc. worth a visit if you like collecting pieces. You can pawn items too. You get some good deals on unredeemed items and they polish up old jewellery before selling so some look like new.

Got to be the East End's go to for anything jewellery related. Bradley and Darren always welcoming, very knowledgable and provide great service. Done a great job resizing my wedding ring, ensuring the engravings kept intact and always great for any repair. I know I can take any problem to them, get great advice, perfect results and all for a reasonable price.

Came in yesterday to get some links removed from a watch strap. Service was quick and also very friendly, they took off two links each side first, we tried it on for size and I wanted it a bit more snug so they removed another chain to make sure it was the perfect fit. I mentioned that I was also looking for earring backs for a pair of old earrings I own, but I had lost the backs, and they provided me with earring backs that were perfect. It solved my problem of struggling to find backs that were tight enough, despite the fact that I had been looking for some for a while. Very happy with the service and it wasan affordable price. Highly recommend!

Took some old odd earrings, broken chains, old bits I know I won't wear no more, got a great price for them, and bought a beautiful chain to suit a very sentimental crucifix I have, with great help from Brad, very down to earth, honest helpful Gentleman. Lovely Shop of history.

Amazing service, was just passing and managed to find the perfect pendant for my girlfriend. The staff member was extremely helpful in making triple sure the piece was right for me, even allowing me to inspect it without hesitation and providing a gift box for no extra charge. I wasn’t at all impressed with the service I received on Friday 18th June. The person that served me said he is not normally frontline and usually does the admin. I don’t live near there but the service is normally friendly and helpful, so made a special journey there. I needed a new watch battery and he said he didn’t have time to do it so could I go back on Saturday. I said no due to the journey and other commitments. He said I could get the watch waterproofed as well as the new battery but it would cost 30 quid. I said I only wanted a battery replacement which he said would be £7.50, but still no time to do it. I had a ring that needed soldering as it had got too tight for my mums finger and had to be cut off and he wanted 40 quid to do that. Apparently the price of gold has short up which meant the job would cost more. Didn’t understand this as the ring only needed soldering and no extra good put in. I had some broken bits of gold to sell and he couldn’t do this without ID so had to leave that. Very disappointed as none of my requests could be met on this occasion.

Unfortunately, a member of our retail shop staff was off that day due to a family bereavement and so one of the office team stepped in to cover. Regarding the replacement of your watch battery, all members of retail shop staff have undergone training to handle customers watches, more often than not, the changing of a watch battery involves checking the waterproof integrity which this particular staff member was not trained to do. Regarding the repairing of a ring which has been cut off someone's finger - this work can quite often be more involved than originally thought. For example, working with 9ct, 14ct, 18ct, 22ct or Platinum will have a bearing on the price, the damage caused as will the finishing treatment required, such as hand polishing or rhodium plating. Regarding the selling of scrap gold, Attenborough Jewellers Ltd are full members of the National Association Of Jewellers, National Pawnbrokers Association and the Metropolitan Police initiative called the Gold Standard. We are therefore subscribed to the prevention of crime and trading in stolen goods, as such we are required to ask for customer ID when making a purchase transaction. I received very friendly and knowledgeable service at this shop. I was looking for a ring cleaning. A member of the staff cleaned it for me and was very courteous and offered some additional tips on the condition of my piece and how to properly upkeep. I would definitely come back!
